Licensed Electrical Engineer (P.E.)
Emerald Built Environments, a Crete United company, is a national sustainability and engineering consultancy with projects across the U.S. We help clients design and deliver high-performing, energy-efficient buildings that reduce climate impact and support community resilience. We are growing our engineering team and seeking a Licensed Electrical Engineer (P.E.) who can make an immediate impact.
About the Role
This role is critical to our national practice, responsible for stamping / signing drawings and providing electrical engineering expertise on commercial and institutional projects. While Emerald is national in scope, this role is ideally based in Cleveland or Northeast Ohio (north of Columbus) with minimal travel requirements (35 days / month).
Key Responsibilities
Stamp / sign electrical engineering drawings as Engineer of Record (EOR).
Design and review power distribution, lighting, and electrical systems for buildings.
Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IECC, and state / local codes.
Collaborate with mechanical and commissioning teams to deliver coordinated designs.
Mentor junior staff and support the growth of the engineering department.
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
Active Ohio Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Electrical Engineering (or ability to obtain quickly).
38 years of experience in building electrical design and code compliance.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and teammates.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary : $110,000$150,000+, depending on experience.
