Summary :
Under the supervision of a RN, the monitor technician monitors for cardiac arrhythmias, deviation in patients’ baseline, and changes in SP02.
Monitor Technician notifies registered nurse of changes to patient status and initiates the response by the critical care team in the event of a lethal arrhythmia.
Responsibilities :
Identifies arrhythmias, deviation in patients’ baseline, signs of patient deterioration, and intervenes to ensure patient safety.
Identifies and corrects for artifacts.Reports abnormal or change in patients’ telemetry monitoring to nursing staff, immediate supervisor and nurse manager.
Performs continual surveillance of multiple monitors.
