Litigation Paralegal - Energy Insurance Defense & Complex Commercial Litigation

A bit about us :

We have an immediate opening for an experienced litigation paralegal to join our client's offices in the Galleria area of Houston.

Our client specializes in energy insurance law with a strong focus on complex commercial litigation, environmental law, maritime law, and oil & gas.

The firm is well-regarded for their expertise in representing clients in the energy sector in high profile sophisticated litigation and trial.

The partners are seeking a paralegal with at least 5 years of experience in a complex litigation setting, ideally within an energy insurance defense, oil & gas, or environmental practice group.

Litigation experience with international jurisdictions is highly attractive, but not required. The incoming paralegal will join a dynamic collaborative team of paralegals and attorneys to provide support high level support for layered complex cases.

Interested candidates should be proficient in drafting motions, document review, conducting legal research, complex filings in state and federal courts, trial preparation, and providing administrative support as needed.

Job Details

Interested applicants should have at least 5 years of experience in a busy litigation environment involving energy insurance defense or complex commercial litigation.

Previous exposure to energy and oil and gas or environmental law is strongly preferred. All candidates must have a paralegal certificate and live in Houston.

Skills / Qualifications

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong filing and document review skillset
• Developed knowledge of legal research databases (Westlaw, LexisNexis)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Experience with e-discovery and litigation support software (, Relativity, Concordance) is a plus
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently and as part of a team
