As the Behavior Therapist on the team you will equip clients and their caregivers with essential skills to navigate challenges and foster family integration.
You will work with your team, caregivers, other professionals and interested parties to formulate and implement individual client care plans, behavioral programs, and interventions.
Seneca offers weekly individual and group supervision toward licensure hours, free CEUs, free trainings to improve clinical skills, and yearly scholarship opportunities for professional development.
ABOUT IHBS
The Intensive Home-Based Services (IHBS) program offers specialized mental health support for clients aged 3-21, focusing on transitioning them back to family care or preventing institutional placement.
IHBS involves individual therapeutic sessions between a behavioral coach and the client and their caregivers, aimed at developing skills to effectively manage behaviors hindering family integration or placing the client at risk of separation from family.
Referrals are facilitated through the Solano County Mental Health Youth Transitions in Care (Y-TIC) Committee. The IHBS team empowers clients by teaching skills and alternative behaviors, such as communication, trigger identification, and self-soothing techniques.

Responsibilities :
Meet regularly with clients and caregivers to advance treatment goals using culturally informed and best practice approaches
Establish and nurture relationships with community members and service providers
Conduct client assessments and evaluations to guide care planning and implementation
Document mental health notes, care plans, outcome measures, and incident reports accurately and promptly.
Remain available for crisis intervention services, including on-call rotations as needed
Participate in individual and group supervision sessions
Maintain strict confidentiality regarding client and organizational information.
Apply crisis communication and de-escalation techniques
Qualifications : REQUIRED
REQUIRED
Master’s degree in Psychology, Counseling, or Social Work
Registered with California BBS : ASW, AMFT, APCC, or full licensed
Be part of a rotating emergency on-call system, scheduled ahead of time
Must be at least 21 years of age
Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurability through Seneca Family of Agencies’ insurance policy
TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state / federal licensing or certification requirements
Proof of up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination
PREFERRED
Experience working with children in out-of-home care
Good organizational and critical-thinking skills
SKILLS OF AN IDEAL CANDIDATE
Ability to use culturally informed approaches to advance treatment goals
Proficiency in discussing treatment goals and progress with clients and caregivers
Accuracy in documenting mental health notes, care plans, outcome measures, and incident reports
Schedule :
Full-time; Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm OR 9am - 5pm
Benefits :
Starting at $71,080 - $85,080 per year, commensurate with experience
Additional $4000 salary increase for BBS licensure
Additional compensation provided upon passing bilingual language proficiency exam
