Responsibilities :
- Provide interpretation services in educational, professional, medical, and community settings as needed.
- Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and other sign systems accurately and effectively.
- Facilitate communication between deaf or hard of hearing individuals and hearing individuals, conveying nuances of language and cultural aspects.
Requirements :
- Certification from a recognized interpreting program or national certification (e.g., RID certification).
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English, with strong expressive and receptive skills.
- Proven experience as a sign language interpreter in various settings, including remote environments.
- Proficiency in using technology for remote interpreting (video conferencing platforms, virtual meetings, etc.).
