Hiring Range : $119,205 - $140,840

Position Summary :

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for all aspects of oversight and stability of day-to-day operations of the organization.

The COO supports the CEO and the Board of Directors, providing leadership and direction to all departments, and assisting in the development and implementation of the organization’s annual strategic business plan and HRSA work plans.

The COO identifies strengths, gaps, and needs across the organization to establish a structure that is fully integrated and coordinated, allowing the CEO to focus on strategic planning and external work.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Perform all aspects of your job in compliance with applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Report any known or suspected compliance issues to the NWRPCA compliance officer.
  • Develop, recommend to the CEO, and implement corporate compliance policies and procedures.
  • Serve as the Board appointed Compliance Officer for NWRPCA.
  • Collaborate with the CEO and senior staff in developing the strategic plan for the organization.
  • Monitor and assure implementation of the strategic plan through overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of program work plans and budgets.
  • Organize and direct all programs toward accomplishing the goals and objectives of NWRPCA.
  • Oversee the implementation of new programs, initiatives, and programmatic directions.
  • Compile and analyze program-related data to report to CEO and Board of Directors for planning and evaluation.
  • Assure cross-program coordination and collaboration of program assessment, implementation, and evaluation efforts.
  • Supervise the implementation of personnel policies and recommend changes yearly with the guidance of the CEO and the Board HR Committee.
  • Make recommendations to the CEO on the hiring and dismissal of staff, including recommendations regarding compensation and position descriptions.
  • Participate in developing organizational policy and procedures as a member of the NWRPCA management team.
  • Manage and maintain IT equipment for all employees, as well as the relationship with IT support vendor.
  • Oversee and manage all relevant subscriptions and licensing for the organization.
  • Secure insurance contracts annually for the organization and employees.
  • Represent NWRPCA and its members at public and private meetings, conferences, and other public forums.
  • Provide necessary staff support to the CEO, Board of Directors, and Board Committees as assigned.
  • Demonstrate commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment.
  • Perform other responsibilities as required or as assigned by the CEO.

Qualifications : Required :

Required :

  • BA, with MA preferred, and related experience in business, health services, or public health administration.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • At least five years of relevant management and community health experience.
  • Extensive experience dealing with community-based organizations.
  • Experience leading and empowering staff, as well as building consensus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of IT systems and tools.
  • Ability to work as a team member and work effectively with diverse people.
  • Ability to travel.

Preferred :

Experience in senior-level management, preferably in a nonprofit setting.

Physical Requirements :

  • Most time spent sitting, with up to one-third (1 / 3) of time walking or standing.
  • Manual dexterity required for typing, filing, etc.
  • Minimal lifting.
  • Vision requirements as appropriate for working on computer and with typed and handwritten materials.
  • Ability to drive to meetings in various locations statewide.
