Overview
FM’s Washington, . Operations has an opening for a dynamic Account Manager in the Client Service Department of our Malvern, PA office.
This position will perform insurance servicing and property underwriting activities on existing accounts and new business.
This position's primary function is to serve as the account team leader and manager of the account. The account manager will serve as the key / primary interface with clients / brokers on all aspects of the account, including insurance products and services, engineering, and claims services.
This position is for an Account Manager I to Account Manager II, contingent on the level of the candidate’s skills and experience.
Varying levels of experience and qualifications will be considered.
Responsibilities
- Building and maintaining excellent relationships with clients and brokers to build long-term customer dedication to FM through the practical application and execution of our client service process.
- Ensuring profitability by retaining existing customers at equitable terms and conditions using FM insurance capacity and improving our risk management expertise and services to improve client risk quality and dedication.
- Maintaining an extreme level of understanding of our broad suite of products and services to ensure effective connectivity with individual account needs and delivery of targeted client value.
- Providing leadership to the extended client service team to support our clients' strategic goals and objectives by providing professional advice and consultation on insurance coverage and risk management matters.
- Supporting the development and implementation of formalized risk reduction and mitigation strategies with our clients in close collaboration with engineering counterparts and through our client service process.
- Working closely with Business Development Executives on prospects to contribute high-quality underwriting expertise and relationship development support to qualify and win new client accounts.
- Protecting FM's assets through effective use of company underwriting programs and adherence to published guidelines, including but not limited to risk transfer and line-setting techniques, judicious purchase of reinsurance, timely issuance of binders and policies, catastrophe aggregate analysis, maximum foreseeable loss development, and cross liability management.
- Pursuing professional development through licensing and continuing education to keep abreast of underwriting guidelines, policy forms, loss prevention practices, and insurance industry developments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; CPCU or ARM desired but not required!
- 5+ years FM experience or 5+ years industry experience (broker, insurance, reinsurance company) in servicing / underwriting large property accounts of varying occupancies.
- A strong understanding of property loss prevention concepts is desired.
- Strong familiarity with FM's client service process is helpful!
- Working knowledge of property insurance and forms, financial documents, as well as business computer applications.
- Demonstrated above-average organizational ability, including problem-solving, sales / negotiation, leadership, and team-building skills.
- Knowledge of internal systems and Microsoft Office products.
