Job Title : Extrusion Operator
Job Description
As an Extrusion Operator, you will assist in setting up and operating thermoplastic extruder machines and other production equipment to convert plastic resins into blown film for flexible plastic sheeting, tubing, or bags.
You will set up and control the extruder, set the film dimensions and thickness, and prepare film surfaces at the treater stations.
During downtime, you will undertake cleaning and other duties to maintain the plant. Troubleshooting any part of the process is also a key part of your role, as well as observing and checking the finished film / plastic coming off the production lines.
Regular quality checks are also a crucial part of the job. This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 18 Week(s).

This is a fully on-site position in Des Moines, Iowa.
Work Environment
This is a fully on-site position in Des Moines, Iowa. Work shifts are 12 hours long with a unique cycle of 3 days on, 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off, 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on, 2 days off - repeat - every other weekend.
Overtime is available for those who wish to sign up. The manufacturing environment is not temperature controlled, so candidates must be open to various weather conditions.
Breaks are staggered with other employees and leaving the facility during shifts is not permitted. The first day will involve a two-hour orientation before starting the scheduled shift later that week.
Dress code includes steel-toed boots, no piercings or jewelry, t-shirts tucked in at all times, and jeans or shorts. The team is small, with about 10 people per shift, offering a family type of culture.
