The Director of Operations oversees all aspects of production, quality control, supply chain, maintenance, and personnel management.

This role focuses on optimizing efficiency, ensuring high product quality, maintaining safety standards, and achieving company goals for production and profitability.

Production Management

  • Oversee daily production activities, ensuring production targets and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Develop and implement processes to maximize efficiency, minimize downtime, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Track KPIs, analyze data, and generate reports for continuous improvement in production output and quality.

Quality Assurance

  • Maintain high-quality standards in all products by implementing effective quality control protocols.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to investigate and resolve any quality issues, ensuring customer satisfaction and product consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and c-GMP regulatory requirements.

Safety and Compliance

  • Promote and enforce strict adherence to health and safety policies and OSHA standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and provide training programs to reduce workplace incidents.
  • Ensure environmental compliance and proper waste management practices are followed.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, train, and develop department managers and production teams to maintain high morale and engagement.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and set clear expectations for team goals.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Budgeting and Financial Management

  • Develop and manage the operations budget, focusing on cost control and efficient use of resources.
  • Review financial reports, identify cost-saving opportunities, and implement strategies to improve profitability.
  • Work closely with the finance department to track expenses and ensure the department meets its financial objectives.
  • Work with purchasing department in raw material cost saving initiatives and second sourcing

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement lean manufacturing practices.
  • Champion initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.

Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, quality control, and supply chain management.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, production scheduling software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must not be sensitive to various scents and fragrances.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Knowledge of c-GMP regulatory and compliance requirements in the manufacturing industry.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access various departments of a given location.
