Job Summary and Qualifications

This is a Full Time Night shift position, 7 : 00pm - 7 : 00am with rotating weekends *

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty.

Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.

You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

What you will do in this role :

• Perform direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act with emphasis on the cardiovascular service line
• Use therapeutic communication in daily practice
• Main Maintain a safe and therapeutic Telemetry environment
• Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual Telemetry patients
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process
• Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care
• Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver
• Participate in cardiovascular department specific initiatives and process improvement
• Promote a supportive Telemetry environment
• Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistant, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses and / or nurse externs
• Maintain high quality (age specific) care for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as assigned
• Support the mission, vision and values of the organization
• Other duties as assigned.

What qualifications you will need :

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
• Associate's Degree required, BSN required within 24 months of hire into an RN position
• Current RN license in the State of TX or compact license
• Current BLS issued by the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association required
• Current ACLS issued by the American Red Cross of the American Heart Association required
• Must have a minimum of 1 year experience with cardiovascular / telemetry patients
• Recent acute care experience required

Those include adult and pediatric scoliosis and spondylolistheses. We offer complex spine surgery and minimally invasive surgical options.
