SUMMARY :

It is the primary function of the Quality Technician to perform and monitor all phases of the Quality process flow.

This includes, but is not limited to the following performing all phases of :

• Receiving Inspection
• First Article Inspection
• In-Process Inspection
• Final Inspection

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Perform all phases of inspection : first article, in-process, and receiving inspection using precision hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, optical comparators, and others.
• Reports, isolates, and identifies suspect and nonconforming products and out-of-control conditions.
• Prepares nonconformance reports (DMRs) and conducts MRB meetings as needed.
• Performs final inspection and approves or rejects products for shipments through verification of all processes and requirements required by customers’ purchase orders.
• Performs floor audits and verifies that in-process control checks are performed at established frequencies, documentation is properly filled out and instructions are being followed.
• Performs internal calibration, monitors calibration system, and arranges calibration with calibration providers.
• Prepares PPAP packages and similar documents.
• Performs and analyzes capability studies.
• Process Engineering Change Requests.
• Creates and updates quality documents : FAIRs, In-Process Control Plans, and SPC forms.
• Updates and creates work instructions, visual aids and prepares quality reports, scans, and files quality records; assists in internal calibration and other quality functions.

QUALIFIFCATIONS :

• Previous experience in software development, quality assurance, or other related fields
• Strong root-cause analysis skills
• Deadline and detail-oriented
• Must be able to read schematics, hydraulic, pneumatic and machine drawings.
• Possess the ability to troubleshoot machine and equipment failures and determine the root cause(s) and suggest counter measures to prevent reoccurrences.
• Ability to comprehend and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Able to comprehend and act on information presented in group settings such as training sessions or meetings involving all personnel in their department, job class and / or plant meetings.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units using standard and metric units. Ability to measure electrical currents and voltages, hydraulic and pneumatic pressures and use standard dimensional measuring tools.
• Ability to understand verbal instructions and to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to : Stand and walk, use hands and arms to handle, feel and reach.

The employee is frequently required to bend over, lean in, stoop or crouch. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance.

The employee must occasionally lift up to 35lbs. Specific vision abilities to do this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
