Job Description

As an Embelex Product Line Manager you are responsible for understanding the market for Avery Dennison’s apparel embellishment products and solutions.

You will bring to market products that create exceptional value and drive key profit pools to enable top and bottom line growth.

Focused in our Embelex category, you will use your technical materials knowledge, consumer and industry insights, creative problem solving and collaborative skills to deliver new product lines that differentiate and evolve our portfolio.

As a Product Line Manager you would be directly responsible for product commercialization from brief through to go to market launch.

You will drive a global agile cross functional team and collaborate closely with Technical Development and manufacturing partners to ensure products and solutions are robust and fit for purpose.

You will partner with your Sr Product Manager and different divisions within our organization to build and execute portfolio and innovation pipelines.

With key stakeholders you will identify and evaluate market opportunities and develop specific value propositions that convert into new or incremental sales for the Embelex category.

Utilizing your expertise in apparel embellishments, you will ideate and refine products that optimize business needs and technical feasibility.

Partnering across the Embelex product organization you will ensure a holistic approach that proactively focuses on how our products perform in the customer end use.

This role serves as a catalyst to elevate the apparel embellishment market while championing sustainability goals and commitments.

Responsibilities extend to relevant product planning and execution throughout the product life cycle. Including understanding and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining product vision and scope, and working closely with internal teams to ensure business objectives and customer needs and expectations are met.

Activities may include, but are not limited to :

Lead and accelerate new product innovations through the end to end commercialization process from brief to go to market launches.

Drive and own the decision making process for your product lines to balance business objectives, end use requirements and technical feasibility.

Support the Embelex Sr Product Manager with the implementation of category portfolio strategies and evolutions by building and contributing short and long term roadmaps for your product lines.

Conduct regular market and competitive analysis for knowledge of emerging market and consumer trends, product positioning, segmentation and competitors.

Collaborate with Technical and Commercial teams to gather customer insights, discuss white space opportunities to leverage into product line evolutions.

Monitor product line profitability trends to analyze product life cycles; taking proactive actions to evolve your product line (i.

e. initiate and implement action plans for upgrades, cost savings, new introductions, and phase outs).

Develop and provide technical product training to enable launch activities internally across the global commercial team that articulates the value proposition for your product lines.

Own sustainability evolutions and product transitions within your product line; collaborating with the sustainability team on studies and targets, and the sales teams on revenue mapping.

Partner with global manufacturing leads to proactively build products with robust raw material supply chains.

Validate back-end support is in place and readily available for new product launches and expansions, including capacity planning, raw material readiness, and alignment of resources.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of product management or development within the apparel / footwear industries.

Structured understanding of Apparel Embellishment product platforms, graphic applications and evolving physical and digital branding technologies.

In-depth technical working knowledge of the manufacturing methods across a wide range of apparel embellishment technologies and application processes.

Keen understanding of apparel testing and quality requirements that are needed to maximize product performance and end user success.

Demonstrated knowledge of the competitive landscape of apparel embellishment solutions.

Proven track record in defining, launching, evolving and sustaining product lines.

Customer / market focused with experience in evaluating product requirements and feedback, matching them with effective solutions or leveraging into scope for new product development.

Strong influencing skills with the ability to champion products both cross functionally and vertically within global organizations.

Strong storytelling and public speaking skills with the ability to create and deliver engaging presentations across global audiences.

Organized and detail oriented, with the ability to maintain and clearly communicate project updates and deliverables.

Work experience in the Apparel manufacturing, materials or trim management field is strongly preferred.

Direct development experience with printed heat transfers and associated chemistries is a plus.

Work experience in product line management in an international business, ideally in targeted markets is advantageous.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Willingness to travel globally for about 20% of the time

Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent)
