Job Schedule : Full Time

We are seeking a Lead Culinary Server to join our community committed to delivering outstanding food to our residents. As a culinary server, you will be responsible for assisting dietary and kitchen staff with supporting functions such as setting tables, preparing trays, preparing serving lines, washing dished, cleaning, etc. Also, assists residents during meal times. What you'll do :

  • Maintain compliance with all Buckner policies, procedures and requirements. Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for the proper dining room(s) set up while meeting, or exceeding Parkway Place and Buckner's hospitality and service standards.
  • Responsible for the set-up, clearing, and re-sets during and after meal service.
  • Stock all side stations and other designated areas with proper supplies and items prior to the star of each meal service.
  • Responsible for taking meal orders and serving requested items according to established guidelines.
  • Respond to the food and beverage needs of the residents and guest while maintaining Parkway Place and Buckner's hospitality and service standards.
  • Provide service as required in accordance with hospitality and service standards.
  • Assist in making salads and desserts for dining room service, as needed.
  • Establish effective working relationships with all other employees and provide leadership and example to emulate.
  • Provide leadership for food service staff members during the absence of the assigned food service supervisor.
  • Ensure all special dietary needs are met as they pertain to resident needs and health care guidelines
  • Assist dietician in establishing and revising dietary policies and procedures.
  • Assist with dish washing and distribution of clean dishes, as needed.
  • Responsible for completing all side duty tasks as assigned.
  • Practice safe sanitary food handling and service.
  • Assist in orientation and training of all Dietary employees in their specific duties in Parkway Place hospitality and service standards, and in understanding the community's resident population.
  • Coach all dietary employees in the assigned areas to meet or exceed Parkway Place standards of appearance, monitor sanitation of department, hygiene and health standards of personnel.
  • Work successfully as part of a team and responsible for developing then maintaining strong working relationships with co-workers.
  • Attend and participate in staff meetings and training as required.
  • Perform general office tasks as required.
  • Perform special assignments, projects, and other duties as required.

What you'll bring :

  • Ability to learn and demonstrate basic food serving, cleanliness and sanitation requirements.
  • Requires proficient ability to speak, read and write English. Ability to read, write and understand business documents which are written in English.
  • High School Diploma (or G.E.D.) required.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with residents, families, visitors and co-workers. Ability to make self clearly understood in face-to-face communication.
  • Ability to understand and follow basic written and oral step-by-step instructions.
  • Ability to move food serving and preparation equipment as needed, using up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and / or a small amount of force continuously
  • to move objects. Work deals mostly with objects, equipment and / or machines where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach. Depth perception and field of vision (peripheral) are of some importance.

  • Requires ability to turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, handle, stand, walk over 75% of shift.
  • Ability to safely utilize kitchen equipment and recognize differences in sound generated by equipment or machinery which may indicate operation problems or safety concerns.
  • Ability to work under close supervision performing routine, standardized tasks.
  • Ability to perform tasks with due consideration for residents in vicinity and ability to cooperate and work with other employees.
  • Requires ability to speak clearly and make self understood effectively in face-to-face interactions; articulate with accuracy to speak on the phone.
  • Requires the ability to hear and receive verbal instructions, answer phones, communicate with people in situations with some background noise.
  • Requires ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Requires commitment to Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally.
  • Requires ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and / or people.
  • Requires the ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time.
  • Requires sufficient good health to properly discharge duties. Employees shall not be permitted to work who have infectious disease or skin lesion for the duration of the communicability.
