Position Title : Clinical Informaticist / Educator

FLSA Status : Exempt

Reports To : Chief Information Officer

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Clinical Informaticist / Educator is responsible for communicating, collaborating and working with leadership, staff and IT teams to design and continuously improve Electronic Health Records / Revenue Cycle build and related IT endeavors.

This position will work closely with physicians, nurses, hospital administration and IT counterparts on a day-to-day basis.

The primary responsibility is to be an IT Clinical Educator and serve as an operations / IT liaison through assessment, scoping, build, implementation, optimization upgrades, system changes and enhancements, and ongoing system maintenance, which can include system testing, troubleshooting, issue management, training and go-lives.

Starting Wage : $87,987.00 / yr.

The posted wage is the current starting wage for this position. Actual wage is dependent on the applicant's relevant experience and qualifications for this position.

The wage range for this position may be subject to change in the future depending on a variety of factors such as market conditions, business needs, legal developments, and other appropriate factors.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS :

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Certification / Licensure :

Current State of Hawaii RN licensure.

Education :

Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Administration, Program / Project management, Information Technology, Health Informatics, or a related field and two (2) years of clinical practice experience.

Or in lieu of a Bachelor's degree; Associates degree and six (6) years of clinical practice experience.

Skills / Experience :

  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience with electronic health records, clinical informatics, computer word-processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience in recent EHR / RC management or related hands-on experience in implementing Oracle Health Cerner Millennium EHR / RC.
  • Experience and understanding of Oracle Health Cerner Millennium EHR / RC, SaaS solutions implementations and clinical workflow related to Rehabilitation Health.
  • Ability to assess customer and industry specific scenarios, workflows and requirements and facilitate solutions in a collaborative manner.
  • Must be flexible and have a creative mindset to identify out of the box, new or alternate solutions or workarounds.
  • Previous experience with workflow analysis / documentation, end-user training / support and system testing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills - ability to communicate effectively with various levels of executives and users.
  • Ability to collaborate with all functional business groups; specifically IT as it relates to internal change control processes.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

License / Certification :

Certification in Nursing or Informatics.

Education :

Master's Degree in Nursing or Social Work, Information Technology, Informatics or related field.

Skills / Experience :

  • Two (2) years of clinical experience in a Rehabilitation setting.
  • Experience working with clinical informatics projects, understanding of clinical operations, including experience with Oracle Health Cerner Millennium Electronic Medical / Health Record Systems (EMR / EHR) and data.
  • Experience with healthcare regulatory and clinical quality measurements frameworks such as NCQA HEDIS, Meaningful Use, PQRS, MIPS, OPPE, CORE measures, etc.
  • Experience working with computer networks and software development.
  • Experience with, or exposure to, information technology best practices and application of standard information technology data and programming principles, theories, and concepts (e.

g. requirements documentation, source code control, change management, promotions, and segregation of duties).

  • Six (6) years of recent experience within the field of Information Technology in a healthcare setting.
  • Oracle Health Cerner Millennium EHR / RC healthcare billing and clinical practice knowledge in Rehabilitation Health setting.
  • Familiarity with improvement methodologies and tools such as the Model for Improvement and / or Lean.
  • Broad understanding of Health Information Technologies
