Job Responsibility :
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for responding to patients' medical and health problems, including but not limited to collecting historical medical information, diagnosis, investigation, treatment, and providing referrals as appropriate.
Our NP / PA independently performs various clinical services and procedures, including treating acute episodic illnesses and injuries, such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains, and minor infections.
They are also responsible for selecting and utilizing appropriate diagnostics or therapeutic procedures for patients. This position is also tasked with keeping informed of medical developments, drugs, treatments, and medications and promoting health education.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitidoner program required
- Licensed as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
- Minimum of 3 years experience in an Emergency Department is required.
- Appropriate certifications to write prescriptions under the authority of the medical leader, both federal and state
- Ability to work under pressure
- Good bedside manner, emotional stability, and have the ability to make decisions in emergency situations
- A desire for further education to keep up with ever-changing medical advances
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent patient relationship skills
