JOBSUMMARY

This is a delivery positionresponsible for driving a tractor-trailer to deliver and unloadvarious products for Sysco customers.

This requires using excellentcustomer service skills and working under state and Department ofTransportation (DOT) regulations and Sysco safety preferred workmethods.

Overtime hours, working weekends and holidays, andstarting at various early morning start times are required tosuccessfully meet customers’ needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliverproduct within assigned route schedule and time windows.Immediately inform the management team of anydeviations.
• Unload product from trailer, byhand or using a hand cart, and place in designated customer storageareas. May include transporting product down ramps, stairs, ordocks, in all weather conditions.
• Frequentlylift, push, or move product that weighs 1-75 pounds, up to 100pounds; frequently reach up to 72 to stack and unstack pallets andhand cart.
• Constantly bend and twist whileloading and unloading products, and retrieving items fromtrailer.
• Verify delivery of items with customerand obtain proper signatures. Contact management for authorizationwhen discrepancies on invoice and communicate allerrors / returns.
• Collect money (cash or checks)where required.
• Pickup, load and unload damagedgoods and customer returns, and complete necessarypaperwork.
• Perform pre-trip and post-tripresponsibilities following the Department of Transportation (DOT)regulations and Sysco policies andprocedures.
• Perform coupling procedures for thetractor / trailer as needed.
• Complete DOT logs(electronic or manual as required), company vehicle maintenancereports and reconcile with appropriate company representative asrequired.
• Follow SyscoSafe preferred workmethods at all times, and immediately advise supervisor of anyunsafe conditions.
• Maintain sanitary conditionsin tractor and trailer and assist with maintaining sanitaryconditions in the warehouse and yard.
• Maintainand safely operate all assigned equipment, including but notlimited to hand cart, pallets, load bars, and personal protectiveequipment.
• Attend all required companymeetings.
• Other duties may beassigned.

QUALIFICATION

Education

High schooldiploma or general education degree(GED).

Experience

• 2years local food or beverage delivery experiencepreferred.
• Pallet breakdown and hand cartdelivery experience preferred.

Requirements

• Mustbe 21+ years of age.
• Valid Class A CommercialDriver’s License with a clean driving record (including no singleDUI in the last 3 years and no multiple DUIs within the last 10years).
• 1-year commercial drivingexperience.
• Submit to pre-employment testing(Drug Screen, Background Check, Physical AbilitiesTest).
• For internal associates, or if marketconditions warrant, Sysco may opt to require completion of Sysco’sEntry-Level Driver Training Program within first 12 weeks of Driveremployment, in place of 1 year CMVexperience.
