Job Description Solar Sales Engineer Intern / CO-OP (JAN-2025) Job Summary : Melink Solar, a leading commercial solar EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) company specializing in designing and building solar arrays, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Engineering Intern / CO-OP join our growing team.
The Solar Sales Engineer is at the forefront of customer acquisition for Melink Solar and plays a vital role in helping customers decide if solar is right for them.
You will work directly with customers and the sales team to develop and design solar PV systems that meet the customer’s needs.
Duties / Responsibilities : Analyze customer utility bills to determine usage, demand, and rate structure / billing details.
Review customer facility to determine feasibility of various types of solar mounting solutions. Create solar PV designs based on findings and create energy production models, using industry specific software to determine the most cost-effective size and energy production.
Compile information about current utility bills, solar sizing / cost, and energy production into a report for the sales team to present to the customer.
Participate in customer meetings to help educate them on the chosen design. Any other job duties as assigned Education and Experience : Must be pursing an engineering related degree.
Must understand solar photovoltaic technology. Must be passionate about the renewable energy business, hardworking, independent, and thrive in fast-paced environment.
Experience with AutoCAD, manual drafting, and electrical line drawings is preferred. Familiar with applicable NEC and IEEE / ANSI standards is preferred.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.
Must have superior customer service skills (i.e., excellent written and verbal communication skills, high emotional intelligence, positive attitude, and a service leadership philosophy).
Proven problem-solving record desired. Able to demonstrate a high level of integrity, and a penchant for high quality. Must possess a strong work ethic and a high level of self-accountability.
