Position : Outreach Coordinator (Feed Rogers)
FLSA Status : Full Time, Non-exempt / hourly
Purpose :
The Outreach Coordinator (Feed Rogers Location) aims to serve the needs of our neighbors who are experiencing challenges in food insecurity, treating every neighbor with dignity and respect.
The Outreach Coordinator will support the mission of Feed Rogers through connecting neighbors to available services, assistance with SNAP applications, workshop planning, and community networking.
This position requires strong relationship building and collaboration skills. The Outreach Coordinator is a trusted member of our community who serves as a link between health / social services and the neighbors we serve.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Provides in-depth assistance by providing local resource referrals and supporting our clients through enrollment with government programs to receive benefits such as SNAP.
- Schedules workshops & community tabling partners
- Connects neighbors to community resources
- Displays passion and optimism for the work and exemplifies the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank's values.
- Stays current on resources in the NWA community and updates Feed Rogers work colleagues
- Develops a trusting and positive working relationship with clients, their families, and outside providers / organizations in NWA.
- Works alongside Feed Rogers staff and volunteers to make sure day-to-day operations run smoothly.
- Represents the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank by promoting and developing collaboration within the community and other organizations.
- All other duties as assigned.
Skills, Education and Experience :
- Spanish / English bilingual preferred
- Highschool Diploma or GED.
- Commitment to understanding and supporting the NWAFB mission, including but not limited to showing compassion to the food insecure.
- Ability to work independently with strong sense of focus, task-oriented, nonjudgmental, open personal qualities, clear sense of boundaries.
- High level of comfort speaking with groups of people.
- Must be able to manage multiple projects at one time.
- Highly relationship focused and people oriented.
- Preferred minimum of 2 years of nonprofit experience in a role interacting with and assisting client's needs.
- Excellent interpersonal, observational, and communication skills, ability to establish rapport.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint or other presentation software.
- Food Safety Certification (ServSafe) must be secured within first year of employment.
- Must have valid driver's license, proof of liability insurance.
Job Specifications :
The physical demands of this position require the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and include sitting, standing, walking, driving, pushing, pulling, stacking, frequent telephone and computer use.
Position also requires the ability to work long hours and weekends as needed. This job description does not list all the duties of the job.
