Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Position Overview : Seeking dedicated Special Education Teachers for K-12 students in Chicago, IL. These contract roles focus on supporting diverse learners with specific learning disabilities (SLD) and developmental delays (DD). Opportunities are available at multiple campuses serving grades K-4 and 5-8. Ideal candidates will provide targeted academic support, primarily in reading fluency, comprehension, and foundational math skills, using both push-in and pull-out instructional strategies.

Location : Chicago, IL

Campuses serving K-4 and 5-8 grade levels

Job Duration : Contract for the 2025 / 2026 School Year

Key Responsibilities :

  • Deliver specialized instructional support to an average caseload of 20 students with diverse learning needs
  • Implement push-in and pull-out services focusing on reading and math skill development
  • Utilize Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to tailor instruction for student success
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure integrated learning experiences

Qualifications :

  • Valid Professional Educator License (PEL) and Learning Behavior Specialist 1 (LBS1) certification
  • Experience working with students diagnosed with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Developmental Delays (DD)
  • Proficiency in delivering instruction tailored to fluency, comprehension, and foundational math skills
  • Ability to manage classroom caseloads effectively and provide individualized student support
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working within multidisciplinary teams
