The Operations Manager serves under the general direction of the Residential Practice Manager for DDRP located at the Harris County Residential Treatment Center (HCRTC).
In addition, works collaboratively with and serves as a liaison to the Harris County Community Supervision Corrections Department (HCCSCD) and the Gateway Foundation (GF) to provide on-site quality administrative / operational support for the day-to-day operations and programing needs (physical plant, meal service, equipment, patient movement, transportation, supplies, etc.
These duties include compiling, preparing and maintaining appropriate reports related to environmental, physical plant, facilities, and security.
This position requires some travel, flexible work schedule and on-call status.
Your Role in Action :
- Serves as liaison between The Harris Center DDRP Unit, Harris County Community Supervision & Corrections Department (HCCSCD), Gateway Foundation (GF), and Harris County Facilities & Property Management (HCFPM).
- Creates and submits work orders / requests to HCFPM, GF & HCCSCD.
- perates as the Fixed Asset Designee (FAD) for equipment and maintain key inventory list of (computers, laptops, televisions, printers, etc.) at the DDRP campus.
- Reports IT problems staff are experiencing to HCCSCD Facility Director.
- Serves as a backup for receiving / delivery of supplies / packages and completes request for delivery or disposing of furniture / file cabinets / etc.
- Coordinates maintenance issues / repairs for the DDRP campus via HCFPM.
- Coordinates with HCCSCD and GF for campus wide response to environmental safety & security issues.
- Manages the preparation for supplies needed for clients & staff for Severe, Disaster & Emergency Weather.
- Evaluates issues related to consumers aggression on a monthly basis with DDRP Nursing Supervisor, Clinical Supervisor and Residential Manager.
- Works in collaboration with the Nursing Supervisor regarding on boarding to ensure proper training needs of Psychiatric Specialist / Technician.
- Serves as the contact person for Fire Marshall for onsite fire drills and maintenance of fire alarms. In addition, maintains awareness of cameras, metal detectors, card swipes, magnetic lock functionalities and makes corrective actions immediately within 24 hours.
- Provides responsive information to external emergency personnel (e.g. law enforcement, fire department & other first responders as needs dictate.
- Special projects as assigned by supervisor.
What qualifications you will need :
Education :
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required.
Experience :
- Supervisory experience and at least 2 years related employment experience in day-to-day security related operations.
- 5 years successful management of security operations in a community healthcare environment is preferred.
Other Key Qualifications :
- Must possess a valid TX Driver’s License
- Must be eligible to become an agency certified driver
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
- Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills including data entry, word processing, excel spreadsheets and other agency required competencies.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to prioritize work.
- Ability to perform detail oriented tasks accurately.
- Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality of all work related matters.
- Reasonable understanding of Texas Administrative Code & TX Department of Criminal Justice Standards for Residential Services for Mentally Disabled & Substance Users.
- Strong background and in depth knowledge base of security industry.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Ability to interact in a professional manger with enter and intra agency staff, patient population, and employees on all levels.
- Ability to influence others and correct conditions that could negatively impact employee and patient safety.
