Job Summary :

Supporting the Core Values of Passion, Teamwork and Excellence and u nder the direction of the of the Production Planning Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for quality, cost effective and efficient operation of shipping / receiving, warehousing and related inventory control / accounting transactions.

The Supervisor will work with corporate transportation, supply chain with the day-to-day external transportation operations as well as documentation for all shipments and transfers in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Logistics / Production Planning Department.

The position will also be responsible for internal warehousing operations including responsibility of front-line leadership of shipping and receiving personnel, including forklift operators.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities :

  • Work with Operations Leadership to ensure the safe and efficient movement of materials, and finished goods physically and systematically.
  • Provide leadership to all Shipping and Receiving hourly Team Members including performance management, reward, discipline, and work assignments.
  • Be considered the site expert in all systematic transactional activities of materials, products, and consumptions. This includes coordinating all training and retraining of related systems as needed.
  • Coordinate all motorized equipment operation training and certification in compliance with all OSHA and Trivium requirements.
  • Be familiar with all DOT regulations regarding shipping and receiving activities.
  • Drive all biosecurity and CTPAT initiatives in relation to assigned areas.
  • Maintain working knowledge on Food Safety Policy, GMP's, HACCP Principle and Food Safety Standard.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities that increase material movement efficiencies, reduce damage, and promote safety initiatives.
  • Attend to daily operational concerns (i.e. availability of trucks, forklifts, RF scanners, SAP / APL related fix and adjustments).
  • Establishes shipping schedules to ensure finished product are delivered to customers and 3PL Warehouses O n T ime and I n F ull (OTIF).
  • Work directly with Trivium Corporate Sales and Transportation departments to ensure that shipments are set-up in SAP to meet customer shipping requirements.
  • Responsible for availability of materials and supplies necessary to support the day to day warehousing operations.
  • Prepare warehousing, shipping and receiving related reports, e.g. warehouse KPIs' / metrics, warehouse safety.
  • Act as a resource in SAP related issues and concerns and be considered the site expert in all systematic transactional activities in regard to movement of materials, product and consumption.

This includes coordinating all training and retraining of related systems as needed.

  • Ensure that all receipts and shipments at the plant and at outside warehouses are transacted in SAP in a timely manner.
  • Review inventory in each warehouse against customer delivery requirements and inform Production Planning manager of any concerns.
  • Act as a resource and / or back up lead person for the conduct of tagged and physical inventories at the plant and external warehouses.
  • Ensure availability of packaging materials (i.e. slip sheets, pallets, top frames) to support production.
  • Ensure availability of shipping and receiving tools and materials, i.e. truck seals, packing slip pouches, strapping tools among others.
  • Identify strengths and weaknesses in the transportation operations, with focus on improving JIT practices and efficient processes.
  • Create, update warehousing, shipping and receiving related SOPs' and KPIs'
  • Maintain knowledge of all Production Planning Manager duties and can provide back up support as needed.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements :

  • Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred; Associate Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field with fiveyears of progressive experience in high-speed distribution or manufacturing environment, including at least two years at a management level
  • Proficient with ERP systems with strong data entry and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, Outlook, Powerpoint, and Excel
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing practices
  • Exceptional written / verbal communication, training and facilitation skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability effectively manage multiple, competing priorities and deadlines
  • Demonstrated experience in problem solving and dispute resolution
  • Experience in good safety, manufacturing, and housekeeping practices.
  • Ability to lead a team, coach, train, mentor, and facilitate job tasks.
  • Demonstrated experience and comfort working in a matrixed, team-based environment
  • Ability to work with all levels of personnel and customers, including during challenging situations
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude, ability to understand the equipment to effectively communicate with maintenance teams .
  • Willignness and ability to adjust schedule to effectively support and manager hourly team members across all shifts (inc Days, Swing, Nights, and weekends / holidays on an as-needed basis
  • Experience in understanding and operation of sit-down forklifts preffered
  • Working knowledge in SAP preferred.
