Job Description

As a Security Officer - Unarmed Retail Site in Livonia, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail / Malls, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to deter security-related incidents at a bustling retail location. Your responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols, maintaining a visible presence, and providing outstanding customer service to all visitors and staff. This position requires a valid driver's license, as you may be tasked with driving responsibilities in accordance with Allied Universal's driver policy. Pay Rate : $16.00 / Hour

Job Schedule : Day Time

Mon 12 : 00 PM - 11 : 30 PM

Tue 12 : 00 PM - 11 : 30 PM

Wed 12 : 00 PM - 11 : 30 PM

What You'll Do :

  • Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while maintaining professionalism.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
  • Observe and report any suspicious activity, hazards, or security-related concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits as required by site policies.
  • Support loss prevention efforts by maintaining a visible presence and addressing unauthorized behavior in accordance with site protocols.
  • Collaborate with retail staff and Allied Universal management to address security-related needs and provide a welcoming environment for customers and employees.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • A valid driver's license is required and must meet with Allied Universal Driver Policy requirements.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
