About The Position

Job Title : Radiology Technologist Job Specialty : Diagnostic Radiology Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12-hour night shift, variable 10am-10 : 30pm, 5x8 Hr Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : Preferred previous Radiologic Technologist experience.

One year post-certification experience required for evaluating and / or instructing student radiographers. License : LRT Kansas LRT, required (applicable entities) Certifications : ARRT-R : Registered Technologist, Radiology - R.

T. (R) (ARRT); BLS : Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association Must-Have : CENTURASTAFFINGRADIOLOGIC TECHNOLOGISTRADIOLOGYARRT Job Description : Provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department.

• Perform high-quality images and exams on patients, maintaining sensitivity to their needs.- Follow standards for safe radiation practices, ensuring personal and patient exposure is as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA).
• Demonstrate leadership abilities and act as a clinical resource to students, staff technologists, and other hospital personnel.
• Assure current standards of practice for the unit, performing diagnostic radiology procedures safely for all individuals.
• Ensure quality images are produced in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.- Prepare patients for exams, providing information and instructions and responding to physical and emotional needs.
• Assist patients during exams, positioning them appropriately and observing / reporting any unusual occurrences.- Facilitate smooth patient flow, scheduling, and optimal equipment / resource use.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff.- Assist with patient transport as needed.
• Perform IV starts and contrast administration as required.- Perform technologist duties of other registered modalities as assigned.
• Provide on-call coverage outside standard scheduled hours as per department / facility policy.- Input charges and required data accurately for procedures and utilized supplies.
• Complete required hospital / medical imaging paperwork for each performed exam.- Prepare room, equipment, and exam materials as needed.
• Maintain technical operation of equipment, notifying service and supervisor of problems.- Maintain a clean work area and document quality checks and equipment maintenance.
• Identify and solve problems proactively, establishing constructive rapport with physicians, staff, and departments.- Maintain a high skill level through ongoing education and share information with staff.
• Assist in the education and training of student radiographers and other healthcare professionals.- Participate in clinical training, supporting the development of clinical skills and hospital / program policies.
• Engage in professional activities through organizations, journal clubs, online education, etc.- Actively participate in department / hospital quality and process improvement initiatives.
• Maintain compliance with state, federal, accreditation, and hospital regulations and standards.- Contribute to ACR accreditation as requested.
• Demonstrate effective time management, adapting to rapidly changing priorities. Skills : Knowledgeable in all aspects of Diagnostic Imaging, including Surgery and Trauma.
• Ability to float to any location within sixty miles of the original assignment or identified float zone.- Adaptability to perform duties outside of original job requirements as per policy.
