About the role :

As the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations, you will be responsible for engaging with college and campus leaders to secure philanthropic funding from corporations and foundations for university initiatives.

You will identify, cultivate, and solicit six-figure-plus gifts from corporations and foundations. In addition to actively managing a portfolio of prospects, you will collaborate with development colleagues across campus to identify projects and potential funders for the university.

You will be responsible for creating proposals and other materials for funding opportunities along with stewarding the donors for relationship building purposes and ongoing support.

The anticipated yearly salary range for this position is $110,000- 140,000 annually.

How You Will Spend Your Time :

60% - Development and Fundraising

Identify, cultivate, solicit and steward philanthropic gifts of $100,000 and greater from corporations and foundations to support university initiatives.

20% - Collaboration

Collaborate with faculty, staff and other campus leaders, including development staff, to identify potential corporate or foundation funders for university philanthropic projects.

10% - Strategy

Work with the Vice President and Associate Vice President for Development within University Relations and Development and other key leaders to identify philanthropic priorities and create successful development strategies for each one.

10% - Community Building

Work with various constituents including businesses, community organizations, and community leaders to develop strategic objectives that will result in philanthropic partnerships benefiting the university.

The Specifics :

Ensure all annual fundraising goals established for the Director are met.

Identify, cultivate, and solicit prospective corporate and foundation funders to the university.

Create prospect strategies which match the university's philanthropic priorities with corporate and foundation partners.

Provide counsel to University Relations and Development and university administration on development matters pertaining to corporate and foundation relations.

Work with the University Relations and Development team so that corporate and foundation philanthropic priorities are incorporated into the university's comprehensive fundraising plan.

Meet and consult with appropriate university faculty, administrators, staff and students pertaining to corporate and foundation fundraising.

Work with various constituencies, including community organizations, businesses, and community leaders to create strategic partnerships which will benefit the university's development efforts.

Develop proposals and other documents for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship efforts.

Work collaboratively with other Directors of Development on University fundraising initiatives.

Oversee and attend appropriate events for major gift fundraising purposes. Also, coordinate with other units as necessary.

For fundraising purposes, enlist and train volunteers for the university purposes.

Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of demonstrated successful major gift fundraising with a preference in corporate and foundation relations required.

Experience in higher education preferred.
