Description of the role :
The medication aide is responsible for assisting with the administration of medication to residents in a safe and efficient manner.
They will work closely with nursing staff to ensure the proper distribution and documentation of medications.
Responsibilities :
- Administer medications to residents according to prescribed dosage and schedule
- Assist residents with medication reminders and ensure medications are taken as directed
- Document medication administration and any observed side effects or adverse reactions
- Communicate with nursing staff to report any changes or concerns regarding medications or residents' health
- Maintain accurate and organized medication records
- Adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding medication administration
- Assist with other duties as assigned by the nursing staff or management
Requirements :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid medication aide certification in the state of Georgia
- Prior experience in medication administration is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Reliable transportation to and from work
