The Environmental Manager will be responsible for environmental compliance at all DataBank facilities. The Environmental Manager works collaboratively across DataBank to develop, manage and support implementation of environmental compliance programs and initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have multimedia experience with a specialization in air permitting and compliance.

The Environmental Manager will collaborate across DataBank, working with numerous teams including, but not limited to engineering, operations, construction, security, compliance, corporate counsel, and human resources.

They will be self-motivated, able to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment, and able to manage technical complexities, internal relationships, and external relationships.

The Environmental Manager is a member of the Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) team and reports to the Director of EHS.

The Environmental Manager will partner with the EHS and sustainability teams to identify and achieve environmental goals, manage and mitigate risks, support our path toward net zero carbon emissions, and improve water usage and waste management practices.

Responsibilities :

  • Lead DataBank's environmental compliance activities and conformance with DataBank's EHS policy and standards across facilities, operations, and construction projects.
  • Manage air permitting and compliance, chemical inventories and reporting, water and wastewater compliance, SPCC plans, emergency response planning, and other environmental requirements for facilities and operations.
  • Manage air permitting and compliance, stormwater, and other environmental requirements for constructions projects.
  • Implement internal environmental programs, standards, and procedures.
  • Identify environmental training needs and implement training programs.
  • Compile and submit regulatory required reports; represent the company in interactions with regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor environmental performance; track, analyze, and address trends.
  • Conduct environmental inspections and support sites to address findings.
  • Complete environmental incident investigations, support development of corrective actions and their implementation, and track and address trends.
  • Manage third party consultants.
  • Evaluate environmental work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees.
  • Support the EHS management system roll out.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental management, engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience in environmental permitting and compliance.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience working in data centers.
  • Experiences supporting construction projects.
  • Experience supporting facilities management and engineering teams.
  • Experience managing third-party consultants.
  • Experience interacting with environmental regulators.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities :

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently while staying organized.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage collaborative relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Working knowledge of EPA regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to simplify environmental complexities for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with (or ability to learn) MS Office, Power BI, Power Automate, and SharePoint.
  • Ability to work autonomously and with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, set, and achieve targets.
  • Self-driven with a proven track record of results.
