Summary :
Tramec Continental Aero, located in Alsip, Illinois, is a leading fastener distribution company primarily dealing with internally threaded fasteners.
The Receiving Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the Receiving Department, and freight put-away. With a hands-on approach, your goal will be to increase operational efficiencies, promote and enforce a safe work environment, and to determine the acceptability of product through quality inspections.
Managerial Responsibilities :
- Assists in Hiring and training front-line employees.
- Organizes, directs, and oversees the schedules and work of front-line employees.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations. Informally
- Assist in handling discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Collaborates with other managers to coordinate activities in and among departments.
- Scheduling and work assignments
- Create Put-Away spreadsheets for all inbound product
- Assists in performing quality inspection for all inbound shipments
- Weigh and wrap pallets
- Load and unload trailers and containers
- Inventory Control Product placement in locations
- Maintains and keeps a clean and organized dock area.
- Collects, evaluates, analyzes, and assesses Receiving data.
- Regularly inspects and evaluates products for quality and defects.
- Identifies and corrects problems and inefficiencies in process, materials, equipment, or skills.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices including those related to safety and health.
- Develops and implements procedures and strategies to ensure a safe work environment.
- Collaborates with other departmental managers to develop and execute budget.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Thorough understanding of safety and health laws, regulations, and policies.
- Thorough understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and other effective manufacturing and distribution techniques.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Experienced forklift operator on sit-down, stand-up, and stockpikers.
Education and Experience :
- Associate’s degree in related field, or equivalent industry work experience required.
- At least two years of supervisory experience highly preferred.
Physical Requirements :
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the warehouse.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on computers.
- Must be able to lift 45 pounds at times.
- Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
