Pediatric Emergency Room
Schedule : Full Time –Nights - 36 hours per week (7P-7A)
Baylor Scott & White McLane Children's Medical Center - Temple has a 20 bed emergency room designed to address the unique needs of infants, children and adolescents. The emergency department equipped to handle all types of emergencies – from minor sprains and strains to major trauma.
American College of Surgeons (ACS) Committee on Trauma has verified Baylor Scott & White McLane Children's as a Level II pediatric trauma center, making it the only pediatric trauma center between Dallas and Austin and the only Pediatric Hospital for Baylor Scott and White. McLane Children's is also a Magnet designated facility and you are able to obtain TNCC and ENPC certifications during the first year as well as triage trained within the first 2 years.

As a Registered Nurse, will oversee patient care provided by the healthcare team using a professional practice model. Your responsibilities include patient assessment, recognizing health issues, creating care plans, and assessing patient responses.
You, as an RN, will conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, create, implement, and evaluate care plans. Building relationships, managing discomfort, staying professional are vital in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
Creating care plans reflecting values aids in resolving issues.
You will help educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices. Assess and document learning needs regularly.
Work with colleagues and community to create a care plan. Recognize limitations and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
Contribute to peers' development, show community service commitment.
A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.
Know nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area. Understand hospital procedures and rules.
Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common meds, and their side effects.
Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
Exceptional communication skills, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing.
Basic computer skills, encompassing areas such as Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.
