About The Position

Experience :

Minimum of 2 years of experience in the specialty required

BLS certification required

ACLS certification required

NIHSS certification preferred

Must-Have :

EPIC experience required

2 years of recent experience in the specialty required

No first-time travelers

Patient to nurse ratios of 1 : 5-6

Description :

Documentation experience required.

Management of O2 protocols and non-invasive airway management is essential.

Experience in peripheral line care and management is necessary.

Knowledge of isolation precautions and proper use of PPE is required.

Computerized documentation skills are essential.

Experience with rapid response team activation is preferred.

Ability to manage various skills including accessing ports, blood product administration, and central line care and management.

Experience with chest tubes, external CPAP / BIPAP, and feeding tube care and management.

Knowledge of heparin protocols and high flow nasal cannula usage is necessary.

Competence in interpreting arterial blood gases and dysrhythmias is required.

Management of cardiac drips without titration is necessary.

Ability to start and maintain IVs and manage surgical drains is required.

Experience in telemetry monitoring is essential.

Knowledge of total joint replacements and tracheostomy management is required.

Proficiency in wound care, including the use of wound vacs, is essential.

Experience with rapid response and code team procedures is preferred.

Daily census will range between 18-25 patients.

The unit accommodates a variety of patient age groups including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
