POSITION SUMMARY The Clinical Staff / Ambulatory Pharmacist provides comprehensive patient care services through inpatient pharmacy functions, including but not limited to order entry / verification, medication checking / dispensing and other pertinent tasks that ensure safe and effective use of medications. The Pharmacist may also rotate into ambulatory roles such as anticoagulation clinic services, oncology or others as determined by Manager. The Clinical Staff / Ambulatory Pharmacist will be involved in patient care activities supporting a variety of patient populations, ranging from geriatrics to pediatrics. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education : Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required. Doctor of Pharmacy degree preferred. Experience : Recent hospital experience preferred. If rotating to an Ambulatory position : Pharmacy residency experience preferred.Advanced practice certifications preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities : Knowledge of all current state and federal laws pertaining to the practice of pharmacy Ability to positively interact with other pharmacy technicians, pharmacists, providers, nurses, other health system employees, and medical sales representatives. License / Certification / Registration : Current license issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy or eligible for reciprocation in Pennsylvania within 90 days of hire. If rotating to the Anticoagulation Clinic : Meets the American Heart Association s standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years. SUPERVISION RECEIVED Receives minimal supervision from the Pharmacy Manager and Supervisors. SUPERVISION GIVEN
