Prime Materials Recovery, Inc. , is currently seeking a dedicated results driven Maintenance Technician in our South Windsor, CT location.

PMR is one of the largest non-ferrous metal merchants, polymer, and processors in the United States. Headquartered in East Hartford, CT, PMR operates state of the art processing facilities in South Windsor, CT, Canastota, NY, and Orangeburg, SC.

Position Summary : As a Maintenance Technician, you are responsible for maintaining the equipment in the facility to include all manufacturing process equipment, mechanical and electrical repairs, the structure of the building and infrastructure including the office area.

Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to :

  • Observe equipment in operation to detect potential problems.
  • Defining parts that need to be ordered after troubleshooting is complete.
  • Maintain inventories of tools, spare parts, and consumable supplies.
  • Requisition tools, spare parts, and consumable supplies.
  • Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Maintain repair or maintenance records.
  • Ability to read and understand machine drawings, building prints, electrical and plumbing schematics.
  • Develop preventative maintenance program for all equipment & facility related equipment.
  • Perform equipment installations as required and defined by Engineering.
  • Have experience in welding, plumbing, electrical, compressed air, and working with process controls.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop and facility.
  • Operation of forklift and scissor lift as required.

  • Regularly reviews deliverables, problems and performance metrics with team and key stakeholders.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 Year Technical School certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Mechanical and Electrical maintenance experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
