- Provide physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families.- Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions to appropriate team members.- Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
- Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.- Administer medications, wound care, and other personalized interventions, monitoring patients for reactions or side effects.
- Maintain cooperative relationships among healthcare team members and a safe, secure, and healthy patient care environment.
- Adhere to professional standards, healthcare organization policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements.- Provide patient education and health management strategies to individuals and families.
- Prepare patients for and assist with exams, explaining procedures and treatment to alleviate apprehension.- Ensure compliance with safety and accreditation standards, promoting a culture of safety and patient advocacy.
- Perform IV therapy competency, including care for central lines.- Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and react promptly in emergency situations.
- Supervise and delegate duties to Unlicensed Assistive Personnel and other ancillary staff.- Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, and documenting conditions.
- Resolve patient issues by conferring with involved parties and using the chain of command when necessary.- Promote organizational values and fulfill its mission and vision through specified duties for patient care and unit-specific competencies.
