Arizona Autism is seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for individuals with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in clinical and home health environments.
Job Title : Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location : Clinic and in-home setting available
Position Type : 1099 Contractor for Full-time / Part-time / Per Diem Hours
Key Responsibilities :
In-Clinic Responsibilities :
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing abilities
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results and patient goals
- Implement therapeutic interventions to improve communication skills and swallowing functions
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, occupational / physical therapists, school professionals, and ABA staff to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Educate patients and families about communication strategies and therapy exercises
- Document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes
- Stay current with best practices and evidence-based techniques in speech-language pathology
Home Health Responsibilities :
- Perform in-home evaluations to assess the patient’s communication and swallowing needs in their natural environment
- Design and implement tailored therapy programs that accommodate the patient’s home setting and functional routines
- Provide education and training to family members and caregivers on communication techniques and strategies to support the patient
- Monitor and document patient progress, adjusting care plans as needed
- Advocate for necessary modifications and equipment to enhance communication and safety at home
- Build rapport with patients and families to encourage engagement in the therapeutic process
Qualifications :
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) preferred
- Experience in a pediatric clinical and / or home health setting is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems
Physical Requirements :
- Ability to lift and assist patients as needed
