About the Role

The Twitch UX Community team is responsible for streamer creation and viewer engagement experiences across our product ecosystem. A Community UX Designer leads design work at the project level, works with senior XFN partners, represents work to executive leadership, guides and mentors junior designers, and reports directly to a Director of Design. Designers at Twitch are involved in development from project conception through execution and iteration. You will conduct actionable research, collaborate closely with engineers, and create playful and caring software.

You can work from Twitch’s headquarters in San Francisco, CA; or from one of our hub locations in Seattle, WA; Irvine, CA; or New York City, NY.

You Will

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional product managers, engineers, and designers
  • Learn from streamers and viewers about how they use our services and their desires to accomplish more
  • Think creatively about how to solve problems that sustain streamers’ communities
  • Give back to the design community at Twitch by improving existing patterns and approaches
  • Combine qualitative and quantitative data to develop hypotheses about customer motivations and use those insights to improve designs
  • Present your work to others by participating in design reviews and feedback sessions

You Have

  • 3+ years of practical experience in UX design with an emphasis on content discovery and / or content engagement experiences
  • Demonstrated interaction design and visual craft skills including prototyping mobile experiences
  • Collaborated closely with other designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers
  • Possess an aesthetic sense and confident decision making
  • Demonstrated empathy for the people using your software or products
  • Expertise with Figma

  • Formal education in Design, Interaction / UX Design or HCI

    • Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. Pay ranges from $106,000 to $184,000 USD per year based on location and experience. Equity, sign‑on payments, and other benefits may be provided as part of the total package.
