About The Position
Job Title : Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Job Specialty : Cardiac Catheterization Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day - 4x10 - 7am - 5pm Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : Preferred one year of Cardiac Catheterization Lab experience License : Surgical Assistant License or Surgical Technologist Certification (within specific states as applicable) Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA Required- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA Required- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) through CCI;
OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES); OR RRT with post-primary certification of Cardiac Interventional Radiography through ARRT Must-Have : Completion of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate academic program in health science, or an accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology- Ability to cover on-call duties as needed- Excellent teamwork and communication skills- Adaptability and problem-solving skills Job Description : Assist physicians in performing specialized cardiovascular procedures, including diagnostic and interventional catheterization, pacemaker / defibrillator implantation, intra-aortic balloon pump operation, and electrophysiology studies.
- Evaluate and document patient status, ensuring timely interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.- Demonstrate clinical expertise and a commitment to continuous learning.
- Participate in performance improvement activities to evaluate care outcomes.- Utilize equipment, time, personnel, and supplies effectively and safely to deliver high-quality, cost-effective patient care.
- Adapt to changing workloads, patient needs, and technological advancements.- Maintain expertise through continuing education, participation in continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities, and attendance at staff meetings.
- Recognize and act upon unusual results or patient responses, ensuring prompt communication with the healthcare team.- Troubleshoot and correct instrument malfunctions or patient issues that interfere with procedures.
- Prioritize clinical and administrative tasks independently, identifying areas for process improvement.- Maintain accurate patient and department records in line with hospital standards.
