The ObstetricSonographer at Sibley Memorial Hospital operates allultrasound equipment located in Departments of Maternal FetalMedicine and Labor and Delivery for the purpose of performingdiagnostic exams according to physician orders.

Responsibilitiesinclude performing all ultrasound procedures according to deparmentprocedures and established protocols.

Performing fetal examsincluding but not limied to 1st trimester ultrasound exam nuchaltranslucency measurement 2nd trimester detailed anatomic survey 3rdtrimester ultrasound exam full and limited fetal echocardiographymaternal and fetal Doppler (MCA umbilical artery ductus venosus anduterine artery) and biophysical profile.

Additionally the OBSonographer assists perinatologists in performing invasiveprocedures performs portable examinations requiring movement ofultrasound equipment to various locations and monitors any abnormalchanges in patients color respiration heart rate andresponsiveness.

Shift :

Full Time MondayFriday Day Shift No Weekends

Requirements :

• Successful completion of an approved curriculumin diagnostic ultrasound. Bachelors degreepreferred.
• Registration (or Registryeligible)by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS)in OB / GYN.
• Current CPR Certificationrequired

Duties andResponsibilities of the OB Sonographer Including But Not Limitedto :

• Performs allultrasound procedures according to deparment procedures andestablished protocols. • Assistsperinatologists in performing invasiveprocedures
• Performs portable examinationsrequiring movement of ultrasound equipment to variouslocations
• Monitors and observes any abnormalchanges in patients color respiration heart rate andresponsiveness. Responds appropriately.
