We provide a range of wrap-around services to help survivors rebuild their lives in the aftermath of abuse, and work to end gender violence through three key strategies : direct services, outreach and training, and systems-change advocacy.

Our services are available in 12 locations throughout New York City.

POSITION OVERVIEW

THIS POSITION IS HYBRID

The Case Manager is an integral member of Sanctuary for Families’ Anti-Trafficking Initiative (ATI) , one of the nation’s leading service providers for survivors of human trafficking and related forms of gender-based violence in the country.

In addition to legal services, ATI provides its clients with a wide range of social, case management, and advocacy services.

This position entails working in a high-paced, dynamic, sometimes crisis-responsive environment, learning and navigating multiple systems, including law enforcement (federal and state), public housing, public assistance, and interfacing with public interest partner organizations while managing a fairly large case load.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct thorough needs assessments and develop individualized service plans to address the unique needs of each client.
  • Coordinate case management services under the supervision of the ATI Senior Supervising Clinician.
  • Offer immediate support and intervention to clients experiencing crises, coordinating referrals and placements such as shelter and medical treatment to ensure safety.
  • Help clients secure safe and stable housing, including enrolling them in NYC housing programs and coordinating temporary shelter as needed.
  • Assist clients in applying for and obtaining public benefits such as Medicaid, food stamps, cash assistance, and childcare subsidies.
  • Provide job readiness support, including resume building, job search assistance, and connecting clients with job training programs.
  • Assist clients in accessing educational opportunities, including ESL classes, GED programs, and higher education.
  • Connect clients with appropriate services, including legal assistance, healthcare, mental health services, and educational programs.
  • Prepare requests for educational and financial assistance grants on behalf of clients.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients with service providers, government agencies, and other organizations to ensure they receive the necessary support and services.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Supervising Clinician and / or ATI Director to complete grant reporting / compliance duties for funders of the Anti-Trafficking Initiative.
  • Maintain and update electronic client records in Salesforce in a timely manner. Perform additional administrative support services for ATI.
  • Perform other department or agency-related duties or special projects as directed by the ATI Senior Supervising Clinician and / or the Director of the Anti-Trafficking Initiative.
  • B.A. or relevant work experience required
  • Fluency in Mandarin preferred or fluency in other relevant community languages is desirable;
  • Ability to work respectfully with clients from many different cultural, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds, specifically East Asian immigrant survivors;
  • Sensitivity to experiences of sexual exploitation, domestic violence and other gender-related abuse;
  • Experience working with immigrants, survivors of sexual violence, victims of trauma;
  • Knowledge of the dynamics of gender-based oppression and a strong motivation to combat gender-based violence;
  • Working knowledge of NYC public benefits programs;
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize;
  • Strong ability to work independently;
  • Excellent judgment;
  • Excellent problem solving skills;
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills;
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills;
  • Strong work ethic;
  • Positive and solution-oriented, even under pressure;
  • Computer literacy; and
  • Energetic and passionate about Sanctuary’s mission of ending gender violence and human trafficking.

Budgeted Salary : $28.93 - $31.95 per hour ($52,650 - $58,158 base annualized); step scale based on experience, pursuant to terms of collective bargaining agreement

Work position is Full-time / 35hrs / wk; Hourly / Non-Exempt

Work schedule is currently Hybrid; must be able to meet job location schedule obligation
