Mathnasium of Fresh Pond looking for an exceptional Assistant Center Director to help run our Math Learning Center in Belmont, next to Cambridge.
At over a thousand Mathnasium Centers throughout North America, students learn math in a way that is fun, engaging, and makes sense to them.
You must be extremely detail-oriented, have superior organizational skills, be highly motivated, and very enthusiastic. You must have endless patience and LOVE working with kids of all ages.
This is a key leadership position that will support the Center Director with the daily operations of the Learning Center.
You will help to drive the quality and consistency of the Learning Center experience for students and parents. You will be a key member of our team and have a hand in almost everything we do.
Among your responsibilities will be :
- Managing daily center operations
- Selling our programs to prospective parents, including : taking and making sales calls, tracking leads, and following up to enroll new students
- Supporting ongoing marketing efforts, including online, and school / community outreach activities and events
- Oversee team of instructors as well as regularly tutoring math to our students yourself
- Assess student's math skills and develop learning plans to ensure they meet their learning goal
The ideal candidate should have prior experience tutoring math and / or working with children. Candidates should also be able to instruct all levels of math, including high school.
For the right candidate, this job may develop into an apprenticeship towards becoming Center Director and taking over the running of the Learning Center.
Required Qualifications :
- LOVE working with kids
- Amazing interpersonal skills
- Prior experience teaching or tutoring math with exceptional math skills
- Superior organizational skills and able to work independently with moderate supervision
- Excellent written communication
- Reasonable proficiency with MS Office and technology in general
- Afternoon / evening availability
This is a full-time position of about 35 hours per week , with hours and schedules potentially varying weekly. Work hours will generally fall between 1pm and 8pm Monday to Thursday, with additional weekend hours on Saturdays from 10am to 4pm.
Summer hours will be different.
We offer a competitive wage of $18-$21 / hour, based on qualifications. Beyond being a really meaningful job, and a great place to work, we do not currently offer other employee benefits.
