The Optum family of businesses, is seeking a Clinical Supervisor & Behavioral Health Therapist to join our team in Athens and Madisonville, TN. As a member of the Optum Behavioral Care team, you’ll be an integral part of our vision to make healthcare better for everyone.

As a Clinical Supervisor & Behavioral Health Therapist , you’ll provide direct care for a diverse patient population through individual and group therapy, medication management, and intensive outpatient programs. In addition to clinical treatment, you’ll also offer remote supervision and mentorship to LMSWs, supporting their growth and development within the Optum Behavioral Care model.

This role will be embedded within our healthcare client; Summit Health Group, and is a Monday-Friday role, with no evenings, weekends, holidays.

As part of this hybrid role, you will work remotely one or two days per week, with the other days being onsite at the medical clinic in Athens and Madisonville, TN.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Conduct outpatient psychiatric evaluations and provide ongoing medication management
  • Screen and assess patients for common mental health and substance abuse disorders
  • Provide treatment for a variety of mental health conditions using treatment approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, and other evidence-based methods
  • Reviews the work of others and provides recommendations for improvement
  • Develops innovative approaches and authorizes deviations from standards
  • Sought out as expert and provides explanations / information to others on the most complex issues
  • Motivates and inspires other team members and serves as a leader / mentor
  • Form excellent provider-patient alliances and coordinate care with external providers

Required Qualifications :

  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related counseling field
  • Must hold a clear, active, and unrestricted LCSW license in the state of Tennessee, with qualified supervisor status (LCSW-S) to provide clinical supervision to LMSWs.
  • Currently eligible to be enrolled as a provider in the Medicare program or able to terminate opt-out (if applicable) prior to starting a new position
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • 2+ years of professional social work / clinical experience post master’s degree
  • Experience providing direct psychotherapy services to individuals and families
  • Experience working with computers for professional communication and medical documentation - Excel, Outlook, Athena RMS (or other EHRs)
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with equal effectiveness

    Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $80,000 to $88,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
