This position serves as principal assistant to the Utility Services Administrator relating to the treatment and purification of the City's water supply;
and related work as required. (Entrance)
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology or Chemical Engineering.
- Five years of professional administrative experience in water purification operations. At least one (1) year of this experience must have been at the exempt (salaried) level and have included supervisory responsibilities over other employees performing water purification functions.
- Current Class Four (4) Water Treatment certification issued by the Louisiana Department of Health.
- Permanent status with the Sewerage & Water Board in the classified service with a pay grade equal to or higher than pay grade 77.
- Two (2) years of full-time experience with the Sewerage & Water Board in the field of water purification at a level equal to or higher than pay grade 77.
- Current Class Four (4) Water Treatment certification issued by the Louisiana Department of Health.

WORKING TEST PERIOD : Effective August 1, 2023, the working test (probationary) period for all positions in the classified service is one year.
