About The Position

We are seeking a Pediatric Critical Care Nurse Practitioner for a 60-day locum tenens assignment in Wisconsin, starting Jan 1, 2026. This opportunity offers flexible scheduling, including day, night, and weekend 12-hour shifts, with options for extended 24-hour coverage if needed. The role involves providing advanced care in both PICU and CICU settings, collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality support to pediatric patients and their families.

  • Provider Type Needed : Pediatric Critical Care Nurse Practitioner
  • Schedule : Weekday shifts 7a-5p or 4p-7a; weekend shifts 7a-7p or 7p-7a; option for 24-hour shifts; 7 days a week, 24-hour coverage

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct thorough physical exams and obtain detailed medical histories for pediatric and cardiac intensive care patients
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory and imaging studies
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, prescribing medications and therapies as appropriate
  • Provide education and support to families regarding their child's condition and care plans
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective and cohesive patient care
  • Additional Information

  • Must have at least 1 year of experience in PICU and CICU settings
  • Required board certifications : Pediatrics; Acute Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-AC)
  • Required certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Wisconsin state license required
