Job Overview
The individual in this position will have experience gathering and documenting product requirements, working in a variety of systems environments and have at least a general understanding of the technology considerations.
They will be comfortable leading workshops, working meetings and presentations, communicate in an empathetic, positive and friendly manner with a focus on clarifying business needs and customer service.
In addition, they will be comfortable working with contractors, vendors and multiple processes and methodologies to manage requirements for all stakeholders.

Business Process Design :

Requirements Documentation :
o Demonstrates an ability to express complex ideas clearly
o Facilitates analysis, classification and documentation of requirements
o Proposes an appropriate document-set for a project
o Publishes, distributes and facilitates sign-off of requirements documentation
o Manages changes to the requirements baseline
o Supports impact analysis on changes to requirement(s) through project lifecycle
Eliciting Requirements :
o Gathers, clarifies and validates requirements
o Acts as interpreter who facilitates communication between clients and internal teams
o Anticipates, quantifies and resolves problems and issues with requirements
Structured Analysis :
o Uses data and process modelling techniques to identify and clarify requirements
o Communicates with clients and internal teams to clarify and validate requirements
o Uses data and process modelling tools
Testing :
o Demonstrates knowledge of testing strategies, plans and execution
o Participates actively in the development and execution of testing strategies and plans
o Designs user acceptance testing plans
o Monitors user acceptance testing and responses to problems
IT Fluency :
o Understands IT and project management concepts with an emphasis on Agile methodology
o Uses desktop productivity applications at a superior level
o Is aware of the societal impact of information and information technology to support adoption and change management activities
Qualifications / Requirements
- Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field or a combination of education / training and work experience equivalent to an advanced degree.
- 5 - 10 years experience as a Business Analyst in software or interactive web development initiatives
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Applies creative thinking and problem solving to clarifying requirements related issues
- Demonstrated experience producing technology project artifacts including :
o Use Cases
o Requirements Documents
o Functional Specifications
o Test Plans and Test Cases
o Process Flows
Demonstrated experience in technology solution management, including :
o Usability / GUI design
o Web application development methodologies
o Object-oriented development approaches
o Working knowledge of third-party solution providers
o Defining and documenting design to requirements trade-offs
- Broad knowledge of programs, projects and knowledge management processes and toolsets
- Knowledge of user-centered content development, interface design, information architecture, digital branding and marketing communications
- Demonstrated experience in communications management, including :
o Ability to communicate with a variety of audiences (internal and external teams)
o Consensus building, team building and problem solving
o Written and oral communications, including presentations to senior level executives
o Ability to work with cross-functional teams (creative and technical) throughout implementation to ensure integrity to requirements
o Organizing and facilitating meetings with business users for requirements gathering
- Preferred : IIBA certification
- Preferred : Microsoft DevOps / Github / JIRA experience.
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) would be preferred.

- Strong understanding of Komatsu’s key applications across our Mining, Construction, Forestry and Forklift product lines
- Expert level understanding of key applications and related product roadmaps to support alignment with stakeholders on current and future direction and to drive adoption with external business partners and customers.
- Expert level understanding of key functionality to drive reuse of core components and minimize proliferation of similar / one off applications, portals and websites across a common user base
