Job Description
Direct Counsel is looking for an for a long term contract attorney with German language skills . This position can sit in any of the following offices, New York, Los Angeles, Boston, D.
C. Miami, Chicago, Silicon Valley, Tampa or Houston . Candidates must be barred in one of the states the above city is located.
Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1-3 years of experience in general litigation. This position is for 6 month or longer.
Responsibilities :
- Draft pleadings, discovery, memoranda, motions and other legal documents
- Handle litigation matters from inception through trial, including taking depositions, attending mediations and settlement negotiations
- Make independent decisions and advising clients on pre-litigation and litigation matters
- Work with experts
- Legal research
- Working with German counterparts
- Other projects, as assigned
Qualifications :
- Motivated with the desire to achieve top level results
- The ability to work well with a team as well as work well independently
Required Experience for the position :
Must have a minimum of 1-3 years of solid experience in litigation in State courts
