Adjunct Faculty - Economic and Workforce Development (EWD) Spanish Instructor

Overview

Moraine Park Technical College is hiring a part-time Adjunct Faculty - Economic and Workforce Development Spanish Instructor.

We are looking for a candidate who is fluent in Spanish and available to work Monday through Friday, both mornings and afternoons onsite.

This position involves serving business and industry clients throughout the MPTC district, with projects and assignments scheduled during these times.

Individuals must be residents of Wisconsin, Florida, or Arizona in order to be considered for employment as Adjunct Faculty at Moraine Park Technical College.

This position is responsible for the multiple modality delivery of instruction and facilitation of student learning and providing ongoing development of curriculum, assessment, and learning strategies to meet workforce needs.

In addition, will provide regular student support and contact, or refer to the appropriate department, to meet the learner’s classroom and career goals.

Duties & Responsibilities :

Prepare for and facilitate learning in the assigned courses according to the College’s core values. Establish a professional and safe learning environment.

Set the classroom tone by modeling appropriate workplace skills and behavior. Maintain a positive climate for learning by performing classroom management and being aware of, monitoring, and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.

• Meet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments.
• Maintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

Submit grades within the expected timeframe.

• Provide timely verbal and written feedback to the students to ensure continued growth and development.
• May participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum.
• Assist with student recruitment and positively promote the College programs and services offered.
• Promote retention and student success through the utilization of referrals to College services and resources.
• Maintain ongoing relationships with K-12, Department of Corrections (DOC), community, and industry partners beyond the classroom.
• Actively maintain proficient knowledge and skills in emerging trends and current occupational practices. Complete annual professional development activities in areas of Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS) competencies.

Complete all required training.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Perform other duties, trainings and service to the College as assigned.

Necessary Experience & Qualifications :

• Must meet the following :
• Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish.
• Upon hire, must maintain and / or obtain Higher Learning Commission, Faculty Quality Assurance System, and other agency requirements and licensure required to maintain individual and program accreditation, if applicable.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.

Desired Qualifications :

• Experience working with secondary, post-secondary, and adult learners.
• Ability to adapt teaching to multiple modalities including in-person, online, video conferencing (VC), and Teams.

Any combination of necessary experience and qualifications which provides desired knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Other Position Requirements :

• Flexible scheduling may be required to include evenings and weekends.
• This position may require travel to MPTC (Moraine Park Technical College) campus locations other than the base location, client / contract work sites, and / or Department of Corrections (DOC) institutions.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
