Job Description
As the Assistant General Manager (AGM) at Mallard Manufacturing, a MacLean-Fogg Company, you will play a critical leadership role in managing and optimizing operations across a large-scale manufacturing plant with approximately 250 employees. You will drive efficiency, cost control, and production excellence while fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. This position directly supports the plant's success and contributes to MacLean-Fogg's commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.
- Pay Range : $150,000 – $160,000 per year (based on experience and skills)
- Work Location : Sterling, IL & Maquoketa, IA
- Travel : Up to 20%
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations across production, maintenance, logistics, and cost control functionsLead and support department managers to ensure alignment with company goalsDrive continuous improvement initiatives in efficiency, productivity, and resource managementMonitor and enforce compliance with all safety, quality, and environmental standardsConduct safety audits and resolve compliance issues quickly and effectivelyManage plant budgets, cost accounting, and financial performance reportingDevelop and implement policies, systems, and procedures to optimize plant operationsPrepare and present reports on plant performance, production schedules, and operational metricsLead recruitment, training, performance management, and career development of plant personnelPromote 5S principles to maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environmentStrong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teamsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrategic thinker with the ability to plan long-term and execute effectivelyProven decision-making skills, especially under pressureAnalytical mindset with the ability to solve complex operational problemsCreative approach to improving processes and overcoming challengesStrong organizational skills with high attention to detailFinancial acumen in budget management and cost controlQualifications (Required)
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field7+ years of manufacturing or plant management experienceMinimum of 3 years in a supervisory or leadership roleProven experience in budget management, cost control, and strategic planningQualifications (Preferred)
Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related fieldExperience in automotive, aerospace, or other high-volume manufacturing industriesLean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certificationHands-on experience leading large-scale continuous improvement initiativesZR
