Business Development Manager - Food Service

Our Business Development Manager will be responsible for enhancing the profitability of existing business as well as collaborating with executive management to execute the strategic plan to cultivate new business opportunities through acquisition opportunities and supporting contract negotiation.

Support the development of profitable competitive pricing models and technical proposals to allow the best possible change of success.

This position is expected to uphold the mission and values established by the organization.

Essential Functions :

  • Collaborates with the executive team to create and implement long-term sustainable margin growth in companies pricing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with national account managers to cross reference product, execute pricing strategies, provide contract negotiation, and support administrative responsibilities of strategic customers.
  • Provide product cross referencing and provide coached pricing on new business opportunities.
  • Provide product cross referencing and order guide preparation for newly acquired company manufactures and customers.
  • Analyze existing customer profitability and work collaboratively with sales management to negotiate with suppliers and utilize company contracts to maximize profit.
  • Collaborate with Sales representatives to execute pricing strategy.
  • Acts as a resource to Supply Chain Management in bid preparation, analysis, and support of product and contract negotiations.
  • Assists with managing contracted business.
  • Assists with the financial preparation and tracking of sales bids.
  • Participates in education and training conferences on selling and sourcing programs.
  • Keeps informed of new products, services and other general information of interest to customers and suppliers.
  • Analyzes competitive data.
  • Answers inquiries from customers and suppliers and handles complaints.
  • Performs other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record

  • Intermediate level with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Word).
  • SQL Experience and Epicor experience a plus
  • Detailed oriented and organized
  • Process data accurately and timely
