Successful private equity real estate company is looking for a talented Investment Analyst to join the team! The position will be responsible for supporting the underwriting process and assist with portfolio management.
Responsibilities
- Meet and evaluate the capabilities of private market real estate managers and draft comprehensive notes
- Draft investment memorandums for consideration and approval from the Private Markets Investment Committee. Complete custom client memos that involve manager updates and / or recommendations
- Develop relationships with both new and existing fund managers and placement agents
- Develop deep understanding of a wide range of real estate investment strategies across the globe Conduct screening conference calls / meetings with new potential managers to determine if further due diligence is warranted
- Client Service responsibilities may include the development and presentation of research, searches, recommendations, and program reviews to our clients
- Monitor the performance of existing investments and identify potential areas of concern
- Develop and update financial models and other analytical tools for portfolio analysis
- Work with professionals across the firm to help coordinate the manager search process (RFPs, data collection, search document creation, etc.)
- Conduct custom research on real estate markets, strategies and opportunities
- Participate in the creation / updating of the firm’s white papers, white paper data, and presentations on various private market research topics
- Act as a liaison with Private Market Investment Associates to assist in clients’ portfolio analysis and risk management
- Contribute to the performance reporting process for assigned clients
- Fulfill any and all other duties deemed necessary by management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance or related field.
- 2 to 5 years of prior investment banking experience, or commercial real estate lending or related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of structured debt including A / B note, senior / mezzanine, note-on-note, preferred equity, and distressed investments highly desired
- Excel and Argus modeling proficiency.
