Job Title : Warehouse Supervisor Packing Night Shift

Reports to : Distribution Manager

Supervises : 25-35 Employees

Location : Washington Distribution Center

FLSA Status : Exempt

General Overview : Supervises night-time packing operations related to production and quality while directing and leading the large pack operations staff on nights.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supervising, training, and coaching employees; issues corrective actions as needed.
  • Communicates, trains, adheres to, and enforces safety, quality, production / distribution standards, practices, and procedures.
  • Directs and leads workflow in the packing of product to meet safety, quality, demand, and efficiency goals.
  • Responsible for adhering to all customer compliance requirements (price ticketing and UCC128 label placement).
  • Develops strategies to optimize packing to maximize throughput.
  • Promotes a teamwork environment and interacts as needed with all departments and shifts.
  • Reviews and ensures procedures and policies are communicated, trained, and followed.
  • Communicates with leads, warehouse and production employees, and management staff daily.
  • Provides a safe and clean work environment for all production workers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Education Required

  • High school diploma and a minimum of three years supervisory experience; college degree preferred.
  • Extensive understanding of product flow related to warehousing and shipping.
  • Experience working with customer compliance teams in the sporting goods industry a plus.
  • Ability to navigate employee issues while maintaining a positive work environment.
  • Ability to adapt and change as business needs change daily.
  • Ability to make decisions as it relates to managing workflow, shifting workers between departments, and dealing with shortage of material.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate reliability and dependability as it relates to responsibilities with the buildings, equipment, vehicles, and materials.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards preferred.
  • Knowledge of ADP timekeeping system preferred.

While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and lift for full shift. Regularly required to lift / move / push or pull weight of up to 45 lbs.

The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms requiring dexterity and handling or working with packages or equipment.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. Employee will be required to hear warning horns, bells, alarms, and oral instructions for safety purposes.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as contracts, ability to write advertising, reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Must have proven exceptional written presentation and verbal communication skills.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic math and algebra.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
