About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty : Float / Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Emergency Room Job Duration : Not Specified Shift : 12-hour Nights Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years required License : Valid RN License in the state of practice Certifications : ACLS and BLS required (PALS or ENPC required within 6 months of hire) Must-Have : - Willingness to float and work as a resource- High proficiency in both Emergency Department (ED) and Medical-Surgical (MS) / PCU- Experience in rural / small facility Job Description : Provide professional nursing care, coordinating care planning with other disciplines- Determine priorities of care based on patients' physical and psychosocial needs- Communicate with physicians regarding changes in patient status- Perform head-to-toe assessments on all patient populations- Adequately assess and manage patient pain, educating patients and families- Revise and evaluate plans of care based on patient response- Administer medications correctly and safely, following the six medication rights- Support physician procedures and perform technical and manual skills- Demonstrate knowledge of cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia treatment- Monitor and interpret patients' hemodynamic status- Formulate and implement teaching plans for patients and families- Provide care for patients with nutritional / metabolic and fluid / electrolyte management needs- Communicate effectively with charge nurses, co-workers, and physicians- Consult with other departments for interdisciplinary patient care- Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and stress management in a variety of situations- Perform duties independently and efficiently in a small, rural facilityApplicants should have experience working in both ED and MS / PCU environments and be ready to assist wherever needed.
