  • Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure and Operations (CO+I) is the engine that powers Microsoft's cloud services. The group is responsible for designing, building, and operating Microsoft’s global datacenters;

The CTO office of CO+I is responsible for delivering solutions technical strategy, developing and leverage research, innovation and defining next generation capabilities telemetry by design.

To accomplish this the team utilizes data from every aspect of our business.

We are looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst to help meet that demand. This person should be intellectually curious, relentless, and looking for insights in data that can turn into actionable and measurable outcomes.

Analytical skills using data to design processes that scale, effective collaboration across internal and external users, and the drive to continuously improve and achieve business objectives will be critical to success in this role.

This role is located either in one or all hub locations - Atlanta, GA, Washington, D.C., Redmond, WA, San Antonio, TX or Phoenix, AZ.

Relocation support will be provided, and successful candidates will need to relocate or reside within 50 miles of the hub office location.

This role is eligible for hybrid or remote work, up to (50)%.

  • Lead and partner with CTO groups to create Metrics and KPIs so we can turn into measurable outcomes.
  • Own the intake, monthly review, tooling and quarterly training.
  • Mine datasets to identify information & insights that are relevant to answer key questions.
  • Build and maintain tools such as viva goals, PBIs, Azure Dev Ops for intake and tracking KPIs / Metrics to measure against delivery and roadmap.
  • Lead working sessions and discussions with engineers group to establish metrics / KPIs. Acts as a subject matter expert to drive the defining and tracking of success criteria and performance metrics (e.

g., KPIs, OKRs, etc. ), such as quality, adoption, usage, impact, and effectiveness for the program.

  • Drive - Annual / semester planning with stakeholders and / or engineers. Partner with team delegates and manage the internal and external engagement with the teams for engineer semester planning, engineer intake etc.
  • Collaborate closely with other teams to develop reporting and analytics that will help drive business decision making and measurable outcomes.
  • Drive business results through a focus on key performance indicators and business goals, promoting clarity and motivation to the team to execute on time.
  • Enable broad use of Power BI and other Analysis tools by working with Org through education and direct engagement.
  • Able to speak to practical examples of performance metrics and the development of objectives and key results.
  • Comfortable in conversation dealing with topics covering all areas of the business

Qualifications Required Qualifications :

  • Doctorate in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field
  • OR Master's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) data-science experience (e.

g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results) or consulting experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, Economics, Operations Research, Computer Science, or related field AND 2+ years data-science experience (e.

g., managing structured and unstructured data, applying statistical techniques and reporting results) OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements : Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and / or government security screening requirements are required for this role.

These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings :

Microsoft Cloud Background Check : This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire / transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Proactiveness and a positive outlook and approach to change management.
  • Ability to communicate analytics and insights to both technical and non-technical audience.
  • Ability to understand customer needs and be able to tailor the message being presented depending on the audience.
  • 2+ years of experience with Power BI.
  • Ability to work effectively throughout the organization and proven record for execution with measurable results.
  • Experience in tool viva goals, Azure Dev Ops, PBI.
  • Ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced environment.

Data Science IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
